The second night in Zabrze finds the first half of the setlist slightly rejigged and showcases brilliant examples of the sharp contrasts Crimson revel in. Thus, Dawn Song’s sombre reflection is swept aside by Radical Action II’s quarrelsome interventions. But perhaps more extreme than this is the juxtaposition of Level Five’s thumping belligerence and heavy gravitation, and the airy lightness of A Scarcity Of Miracles, making its first appearance on this particular tour, having last been played the previous year at the end of the Japanese tour in December. Having been fashioned from studio improvs and soundscapes into a song for the 2011 album of the same name, what was strictly speaking a KC ProjeKct to begin with found its proper home as part of King Crimson’s repertoire and arguably one of the most underrated pieces of late-period Crim.
