Esoteric Jeff is absolutely right. The band is still amateurish at this point. Jerry sounds like the only professional among them. There are some good moments here and there, but honestly it’s amazin MORE>

The 30 TRIPS boxed set begins here, with a mid-66 show. There is earlier Dead available from this year (you wouldn't want to hear it!) and later as well (they first truly mature as a live act in Nove MORE>

I love to listen to bands in their beginnings. This is no exception. And at this quality from 66. Fantastic! It's funny to hear a smattering of claps rather than the roar of a crowd when a song ends. MORE>
