Reviews for Widespread Panic: 4/16/2011 Oak Mountain, Pelham, AL

perfectly balanced show. Epic Chilly sandwich opener, followed by Down by the farm. The band seemed really on point during St.Lious>Shut Up and Drive, followed by the PD>SM. i loved how they play a Vic cover nearly every. Such a meaningful tribute. Second set was also balanced. I hated good people when they overplayed it 08, but its back to be good. Red hot mama sandwich was the show highlight, followed by a classic cover. Bad ass 2 song encore. Heard it was shortened due to the cities policies on music after 11:30

P.S. Cops were completely ridiculous. Live shows bring SO MUChH local tax revenue. How u gone screw people over lie that.

WP killed as usual....but in my 30 plus years of attending concerts i have never seen such gross misconduct of the Pelham Police abusing kids, planting drugs, you name it. What a shame.

@stellablue... I'm from Chicago originally, but grew up in Pelham, and while it isn't the greatest place on earth, it is a very nice place to live. As far as the venue goes, it has gotten increasingly more oppressive since the lawn went away. However, I had a great time seeing panic, security was more lax than i've ever seen them there, and even more so, than the shows I saw in Atlanta in september....

Amen! Great shows, but I have seen hundreds of shows since Dead '93 and I have never been treated half as bad! I wouldn't go back to that venue if Jerry, Bob Marley, Jimi Hendrix and Jim Morrison all came back to life and had Elvis open. If you dropped your candy bar wrapper by accident you were going to get arrested. Horrible town, Horrible venue. It's a no brainer to download though!

I was SO glad that Widespread Panic was back at the Oak Mountain Amphitheatre in Pelham, AL. Thanks to Pelhams new mayor the Boys were allowed back :) The show was AMAZING!!! I didn't even want to go to the BJCC b/c Oak Mtn. is such a great venue. Keep coming back... Pelham just needs to open up the gates to the Lot earlier than 2 hours before 'go time'. WELCOME BACK, AND HOPE TO SEE WP @ Oak Mtn. again real soon! :)

you didn't get in show late because the crowd was so big....you got in late because Pelham sucks that bad. Never felt more unwelcome at a show in the entire time I've been going to see panic in multiple states. I get the point of going back, but I'm kinda glad I didn't have to deal with all the bs Fri night. How can you not provide public restrooms, oh wait, you want to arrest everyone, I get it now....FU Pelham.

The crowd was so big that we missed over half of the first set, but the show was amazing. The lights were beautiful and the music was transporting. It was a drag to miss the Chilly Water sandwich, but the second set with Blue Indian and Red Hot Mama was well worth the frustration. Thanks for another awesome show, guys!! See you this summer.
