Reviews for Widespread Panic: 8/2/2005 Cavalier Telephone Pavilion, Baltimore, MD

Been listening to the show on my computer at work, and only yesterday had the chance to listen to it on a CD player. Wow. Monstrosity>Good Morning Little School Girl is wild...took me back to my Deadhead days 15-20 years ago, although I would argue that the Dead never sounded this good in the late 80s or early 90s (25 shows). Also can`t stop listening to End of the Show and Solid Rock. Didn`t realize what a treat these songs were. WSP is as close as you can get now to hearing the Grateful Dead sound/style. Already looking forward to WSP`s return to the Balto/DC area next spring! Hoping the boys make a stop at Pier Six (or Merriweather) again next summer.

This was my birthday show and 1st time to Baltimore. Thanks for the Tortured Artist JB! Could not believe I got a panic rendition birthday song. They tore it up the whole 1st set. Definitely got down to business. What a reality check after Nissian. Never going back there. Don`t know why anyone would. Cops rule. Overall Great Show in Baltimore! HIGHLY recomended.

Short show, especially first set (~40 min), but the band was tight, good energy. Had 15th row seats (thanks to general admission!) in front of George. He was jokin` with the crowd all night. He really ripped it up. Highlights were definitely Doreatha(!), Blackout Blues (JoJo!), LGTSOTR (!!!), Surprise>Tall Boy, Sleeping Man, Proving>Nebulous, Drums(!!!) and Red Beans (JoJo again!). I`m sure there were better shows this summer, but we had a good time. Great venue, we watched the sun set over the Balto harbor.
