Hallelujah, it's finally returned! The Download Series Vol. 6 was easily the best released of the entire bunch, an incredible partial show (Dark Star > Born Cross-Eyed > Spanish Jam is cut before Lovelight, ruined by tape experiments ca. 1968). The second is an explosive (and unique) medley culminating in one of the most fully realized Cautions the Dead ever did.
A treasure, every bit the equal of Dick's Picks 22.

Love this period of the Dead. As everyone is saying, primal ‘feel it in your gut’ jams. I find Jerry’s guitar playing hypnotic, like a snake charmer, coaxing the rest of the band to dance in response to the movement of the notes- next level music.

Eleven just makes me smile every single time every single version ...well I guess the dead make me smile but it always gets bigger for eleven is what I was getting at. Miss this band and all of you see you all at the next one.

1968 is so much fun. Jerry just absolutely shreds, and each night just feels like it gets more and more interesting. This is really where it all begins.

This sounds so clean. I'm currently working through the entire catalog between this app and others. Currently in February of 1970. It's crazy to just jump back 2 years and easily hear a completely different sound.
