I wish there was something that could be done to save STEAL YOUR FACE, but even the remix - which definitely upgrades the sound in immediately obvious ways - will never be able to cure the simple reality that it's an unsatisfyingly selected and mediocrely performed album. (Don't blame me - the band emphatically agreed in retrospect.) The truth about the Winterland "retirement" shows is that this band was READY to take time off. They rejuvenated later. But this has always felt like a document of exhaustion.

remember the album’s sound mix wasn’t great. this remix does this justice. Stella Blue is outstanding .

Never listened much to this album due to the previous mix and sound quality. This upgrade really brings out the instruments. Just listen to Bobby’s rhythm work in Half-Step. Spectacular. This release is a very enjoyable listen although the vocals still sound like they are singing into a pickle jar ?? (especially Jerry). I guess there was nothing that could be done about that but overall this is a significant improvement and worth hearing.

Hearing this album again brings back so many memories.! Sounds great to hear the echoed halls of Winterland!!!
