Reviews for Grateful Dead: 9/19/1988 Madison Square Garden, New York, NY

The mix of these MSG shows is amazing. I love the Let it Grow, Jerry quickly teases Eleanor Rigby. Love the Touch of Grey. Thank you GD!

I thought I had enough of these MSG shows until this Drums kicked in, holy shit!

A very strong concert in NYC. The dead are really hitting their stride in the Fall in 1988 which would carry over into 1989. The band is peaking with Brent and they are as tight as can be.

This was the last show I attended during the Brent era. Over the years, I’d never seen the Dead indoors before this and it really threw me. I will always prefer singing in the air. Revisiting this run of shows has been a real treat. Thanks

What a show... I went with my college friends/ college girlfriend and loved it, start to finish.

This was three days before my eleventh birthday. It was so hot that summer. Touch of Grey was still getting heavy radio play and it was my first fav Dead tune. Never knew at the time that ten years later I'd be collecting tapes. Took years but I finally got IT. Life's a journey

What an opener!! We will get by! A real strong gig. This show was out there. Everything just fits real tight. Solid set after set. One of my favourite LRR, and Dire Wolf gets an outing with a sweet solo. Brent kicke Far From Me into the cosmos with those vocals and Jerry's solo is the highlight of the set.
