Both of these Berkeley '71 shows (from the legendary "Summer of Pig," his last great era of full-strength performance with the Dead) are great, and clearly the "loss leaders" of the Play Dead app. The mixes are Phil-heavy - though still not quite so much as the great 8/7/71 San Diego show unearthed for Dick's Picks 35, a deceptively fantastic gem despite the seemingly workaday setlist - and the performances are universally enthusiastic. The Dead arguably didn't play a single subpar show during August of 71.

Did Phil mix these shows?!? ?? The clarity is spectacular, and the bass is BOOMING! These are the 2 shows I'd play to show off this app.

This and the day before sound incredible and are top notch shows. I think this is my favorite of the two, BRRB just gets everything rockin right at the start.

Both 8/14,15 are wonderful Rex Jackson recordings. Phil front and center. Phenomenal 10 minute Wharf Rat. Soulful Jerry. Great to hear them jam it out, then end it proper, without Bob cutting it off abruptly.
