Show is a little sloppy compared to 2/13/14/70 but best viola Lee blues ever and show is an all time great.

Finally the full show with the missing cold rain and snow included, though i guess the st Stephen from the top is forever gone. What else is there to say about this one? The best acoustic into electric show ever, and boy does the electric set make up for it if you’re not a fan of the acoustic first set. How anyone in the building was even still standing after dew > VLB (best VLB ever), I’ll never know… and they still wouldn’t let them leave! They’d have clapped along to that bid you goodnight for another 3 hours. The best listen ever, never gets old.

It's one of the two most famous Dead shows of all time (the other is Cornell 5/8/77). Many would argue Cornell is overrated. NOBODY will ever say that about 5/2/70. A warm acoustic set, where the band masters an unruly crowd reacting to the recently revealed bombing of Cambodia (Kent State was two days later). An immaculate (albeit monaural and slightly truncated) electric set. All songs are peak performances, even stalwarts like Casey Jones. This show is Dead 101. Even if you know NOTHING, start here.

One of the best of the early dead concerts. This show lives up to the hype. Bobby is still not fully in sync with the sound he would be remembered for, however, the recording of the acoustic set and electric set are just both gems. A very good look into the band with Pigpen and the way the songs take shape before they perfected them later by 1972.

Amazing show. First set could make anyone a deadhead. The second set is slower tempo than other second sets and is a Phil Bombs shows!!! Lots of band banter and a great NY show!

I remember having a vinyl bootleg of this in college in 1974. This was quintessential Dead; The Good ‘Ol Grateful Dead if ever there was.
