This is a lovely partial show (the rest was released elsewhere on DAVE'S PICKS 51, so someone should just collect the full show for us like 5/4/77 has been!), but the venue is incorrect. This was played at Kiel Opera House - a MUCH SMALLER venue than the mid-sized arena known as the Kiel Auditorium. (The Dead played their first - and only - shows there in 1973, after making fun of the venue's acoustics during their shows at the much smaller Fox Theater in 1972.) Killer Dancing to be found here.

I have some of this on dave's picks volume 51, but it is listed as Kiel opera house, which is an entirely different venue that sat next door to the auditorium, but was noted for being a venue that was nearly perfect acoustically.

gotta love shows that fall on your birthdate, even if they precede my birth by 6 years. the covers on this set are phenomenal and the drums are extra crisp. we love it!

Low key one of my favorite Dead shows. This is the first time I ever liked anyone's cover of Dancing in the Street and the middle section is one of my favorite jams in the entire archive.
