I was there, a Deadhead from college in Santa Barbara. We had no idea what this song was. At first we thought: “Dylan cover.” But the verses were just spilling out and all at once we realized: “New Song!” Then a little later; Estimated Prophet. And San Bernardino of all places. Fantastic show! The phenomenal ‘77 run, for me, starts with Cow Palace New Year’s Eve ‘76. So many great shows in ‘77.
