Reviews for Grateful Dead: 5/8/1977 Barton Hall, Cornell University, Ithaca, NY

I'm not trying to be the guy to tell you that this most famous of shows - perhaps the single most beloved Dead show for decades, due to its widespread circulation in a forgotten era of spotty tapes - is overrated . . . but it's kind of overrated! Cornell is a FINE show - the "Scarlet/Fire" is basically definitive - but it honestly isn't the best setlist or performance of May '77. Go to DP3 or either show on DP 29 or the Hartford show (which ends the tour) for those. But the memories hold up.

Come for the Scarlet>Fire, stay for the Dew!

One of my favorite shows. Honestly, it might be the perfect show.

Was there. Simply only third time I’ve cried in joy . Other 2 times were my son’s births.

This show was actually on a Sunday night. Next year for the 50th anniversary, it'll be One More Saturday night.
