Reviews for The String Cheese Incident: One Step Closer

This cd proves that they are coming up with new sounds, instead of playing same beats over and over and over like 99% of the other jam bands. It is impossible to compare this to other cd`s that they have done in the past. All of the songs are like nothing they have ever done before. This is way better than breaking up and reforming every other year like Phish or some lame imitation. One Step Closer is the epitome of their differientality.

I don`t know about this album. And who is the new guy? The songs have grown on me as I play the album in the carousel but maybe they have just become more familiar. And is the sound a little muted in mix? Anyway, at least the band is still performing together and there is always the chance of another good studio album some day. Maybe.

the new album is pretty good....lots of old crowed pleasers. what is kinda neat is that the band totally rearranged all these songs for us into new arrangements. i miss the betray the dark that we are used to. the album is heavily back loaded. few new jams at the beginning with the big whammers coming at the end. the second half of the cd gives me the feeling of a 3rd night fillmore run 1st set. i can picture the band sitting in a circle and just singing and playing to one another as they go from song to song. nice jam at the end of song 4. i think drive will be like sci`s truckin`. previous posting was right this cd will grow on you. one thing that im upset about and i hope that this complaint gets viewed, why was the album posted a day early online?! us hard working dedicated fans preordered to get the dvd only to see we didnt have to preorder and that the casual fans who wanted the album in store or digital could get it sooner. fedex was also a day late on delivery. just my two cents. im at work and i cant wait to throw in on when i get home!
