Reviews for Widespread Panic: 6/24/2005 Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Morrison, CO

I would have to agree with most of the other reviews. The whole show I just kept waiting and waiting for them to kick in. Too bad it never happened. When they opened with Trvl. Light, I thought we were in for a great show. It just so happened to be the only highlight of the entire show. For those who said it was their 1st or 2nd show and thought it was awesome, i suggest you see more shows. Overall, one of the worst shows I have seen them put on.... But I still love`em!

Not to offend anyone but I was not impressed with the music or the set selection for this show. I thought the energy level was low and the band was off. However I did have a ton of fun hanging out at Red Rocks with my friends and wouldn`t ask for my money back. I will also say they made up for this show on Saturday and Sunday.

Now I don`t want to upset anybody that actually liked this show, but this was in my bottom 5 shows of all time. The song selection and execution just weren`t with our boys this night.
First set kind of whized by. I didn`t think much about it. Second set was just one snoozer after another. PJR and DWLY were well played but the slow songs that bogged down this set were just too much. They zapped the energy right out of Red Rocks. Now I like Fishing, but not when it`s bookend with Expiration Day and a Counting Train Cars. If I never hear these songs again I`d be happy, but this night I got them in the same set. Then came drums. I figured this would give them a chance to regroup and really bring it home. Well Monstosity for 14min was not the answer. Run for your life was kind of cool, but alas this set was already done for me. The encore looks good on paper, but once again they were just going through the motions. Flame me if you wish, but I just call `em as I see `em. I was even discussing this show with random people on Saturday and everyone had pretty much similar thoughts about the show.

This was my first show and i was amazed how awsome they played! I`d say the chilly water was the greatest ive ever heard and when they came on second set and played papa johnny road it made my experiance complete. The energy was amazing all the way to the end of the show and im comin back for more!

This show was one of the best i`ve seen in my life, and although this was only #2 of panic for me, i was blown away. Mc`connell has improved so much since i saw them at red rocks in `02, not at all to say he sucked then, but he has really familiarized himself with the rest of the band, and they have done the same with him. Gonna lose you was incredible, the chemistry of the band and red rocks put out an amazing energy that unfortunately can only be experienced live. Download this show, and the following two nights!
