Reviews for Widespread Panic: 6/24/2005 Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Morrison, CO

I love panic.. probably seen 40+ shows and will see more but this show was a snoozer. First set was decent but the second was just boooring. I some of the the new songs but not all at once. The only good part about getting a Ball set like this is that I knew those songs would not pop up again the next 2 nights :-)

All you guys and gals who say you loved the show and thought it `ripped` are certainly entitled to your opinion.. and so am I.

Last and not least.. I know George trying to improve his tone over last tour, looks like he is using 2 different Fender 4x10`s, but the tone just is not meaty enough. Panic needs to get that fat chug back ! Gimmie the CHUG !

I first saw Panic in 1990 at the Grove in Ole Miss. I have not seen them since November 1997 until this past weekend at Red Rock due to growing older and getting married. While the entire show was the not the hottest I`ve ever seen, It was nice to feel their energy again as it flowed in the first set from Little Lily to Travellin` Man. Ride Me High in the middle of that stretch had everyone in my section of Red Rocks lovin` life that night. For any of you Beanland enthusiasts, I think you would agree that JoJo and George have really transformed this band. Mikey would be proud! Can`t wait to get the Saturday shows because George was rippin` it up that night.

I had followed Phish for a while and some of this nastiness torwards the setlists and the band seems eerily familiar to what was happening in their last years. People need to grow up, listen to the unreal music that WSP is producing and recognize that the band is morphing for its own good. This show had the least energy, but was my favorite for the Ball heavyness of it and just the mix of songs. Great work on the mix, great work Spread and I cant wait for Saturday.

the songs these guys play are about nothing more than playing the music these guys like to play. in my mind it doesn`t really matter what the band plays.....just as long as they play. we know what they are capable of and see the shows for what they are worth....the music, our friends, and the atmosphere. i think for those of you downplaying any of the music at the show were there for the wrong reasons;)

I have been following Panic since 92. This show, along with Saturday night, was one of the best musical experiences of my life. These guys keep changing and evolving and never cease to amaze. You folks with all of the negative energy are missing the whole point of this wonderful band and their togetherness. Michael would certainly be proud that his brothers have carried on.
