Reviews for Widespread Panic: 6/24/2005 Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Morrison, CO

Baby only cares what the people feel...  (6/8/2008 7:06:16 PM)

There has been a lot said about this show...mostly bad, but I had a great time. " You should be glad ", first time played at red rocks, only time played at red rocks, and this version is one of the best they've ever done.

All the people that were ragging on this show need to stop buying tix and let us true Panic fans get the tixs! If you really loved the boys then you would realize that no song of theirs is weak or too slow. These shows were amazing and some of the best of 05!fishin experation was amazing! i had many friends that love this band as much as i do and didnt get tixs because of all the people who bought tixs and are saying that this show didnt have enough energy! Three words- Panic Red rox! 06 will be unbelievable and so will Winter Park!

The highlight of all 3 shows for me was the acoustic Expiration Day.

I would like to say that after listening to this download I have to disagree with all the neagative comments on how this was a bad show. The second set till drums is mellow and not rocking - but that does not mean it is bad. If I was at the show - yeah I would want every song to rock! But these are actually some real good songs and sound great. So don`t be turned off to buying this show because you won`t probably hear a stretch of nice soulful songs very often.

I have definately been around the block with the dead, allmans, Panic, and I love music point blank!!!Panic is the shit, they are great musicians with intense energy. I have never needed a massage so badly after seeing one band. I did spring tour, definately some unforgettable shows, but Red Rocks was amazing, from the first night to the last. I have never felt so much love for a band, I just wanted to give them the biggest hug. I`m not going to rip anyone that didn`t get it, but I definately get it, and always will. Love you boys, Rock on!!!!! See you in Tahoe

Sometimes I wish the people who are so concerned at how bad it was seeing Panic all the time would stop going so it would be easier to find a ticket. This show is SOLID! Great Funky Good Stuff all the way through. Friday was a very sound show.Peace

I`m not sure what show everyone saw on Friday, but I found the first show at Red Rocks to be powerful and poignant. Drawing from the old school song book in the first set, the band began the summer tour with a nod to the past. After the break, they showed the way they were headed. The acoustic set showed off George`s technical expertise when unplugged and the complexities of "Don`t Wanna Lose You" exemplified the group`s maturing song writing techniques. A great Vic cover in "Expiration Day", followed by one of the best new songs "Fishing" and a short and spacey "Counting Train Cars" led into a nice return of Drums then the pedal was pushed all the way to the floor to the end of the set. One of the greatest encores of all time and you have a wonderful return to Red Rocks setting up one of the most satisfying weekends of music ever performed. I loved the Friday show.

I think we all agree there is fun to be had with hanging out with friends, and drinking beer, and just being at Red Rocks. I thought the purpose of this board was to review the actual show though. Not all shows are created equal people. There are some that are better than others. I personally like to get a real account of what happened, even if there might be what some people perceive as negativity involved. I personally don`t consider it negative to mention that a portion of the show was slow, if indeed that portion of the show was slow. I don`t think anybody in the bands feelings are getting hurt by saying this. So, those of you who can get past that fact that it was fun just being there but want to know how the music was, it was a little off and not very memorable on this night. No biggie, the world will continue to turn, and monster shows will continue to be played, but if you want to save a couple of bucks and not purchase this show consider it a good idea to save those bucks for a hotter show. IMHO
