Reviews for Yonder Mountain String Band: 2/6/2010 Tennessee Theatre, Knoxville, TN

Solid show. Not a ragefest a la ATL, BHAM, ASH, but a well-played show full of rarities at a beautiful theater. The pit seats didn't hurt either.

The first set played like Yonder of long ago with some well selected older tunes that anyone would want in a single show much less the first set. No real segues until Death Trip, so it was interesting listening to Jesus and Oklahoma set off by themselves.

The second set moved a little faster with an excellent start and one hellofva POM. I'm honestly glad they didn't squeeze the "Girlfriend" into this song. Love that segue, but they tore the hell out of this song. Adam absolutely shredded this.

While KNOX isn't necessarily high-octane Yonder, I really enjoyed the song selection, a very reduced audience, and the glorious TN Theatre. This band is playing WELL right now.

Thanks guys...Keep On Going!

This probably isn't the best show of the Cabin Fever Tour (setlist from two nights before in Asheville looks outrageous), but it was definitely a very good one. I was 11th row center. The number of stand-alones to open the show disappointed me a bit, but there are very good performances of excellent songs there. I thought "Howard Hughes" and "Oklahoma" were best.

The second set is fire from front-to-back. The two sammys and the "POM" closer were especially hot.
