alright, I'm a bit of a Jamgrass snob. Most of these bands noodle far too much for my taste, losing the groove. Not these guys! They are my favorite because they have really great songs, 3 good singers, and jam really well, while keeping the pocket.

Trains is a boofin’ bluegrass hit. Don’t know why it just hit me. But Dylan and John Cowan are the rockstar voices of bluegrass. Cowan with a C. Look him up youngins. New Grass Revival’s bass player.

Jimmy Martin (2/12/2026 9:48:17 PM)
Jeff Austin once asked the ghost of me to play a Jimmy Martin tune, in Dallas Texas, at Trees, in Deep Ellum. I granted him the permission. He did Hit Parade of Love that night. But I always appreciated when he covered Freeborn Man. A guitar song sang by a mando man. I dig it! Courtlyn has the same rights as Jeff did on my tunes. By the way Tony Rice did a fine job with this too. Yall youngins ought to look my catalog, you will like what you find.

I have to give made props to the people in charge of the audio mix. From the plugged in instruments, which sound great, to the Nugs feed. It just keeps getting better. Wow, doing it to ya in your ear hole correctly.

Ok folks, this one is a burner. Dylan has a debut of Trains, Erik and CJ sang their new ones too. Then that second set. Be ready to change after you Magoo all over your pants. Open to finish on that second set is straight grade A stanky grass. Wait a minute is perfect CJ tickled his mandolin on that break. Double encore. Crowd brought it. F’n South Dakota brought the magic sauce. Not bad for the 4th smallest population for a state. Also the 39th state added back in 1889. “Great Faces, Great places”, Hail, South Dakota.

Do you like it when someone says, “It’s only awkward if you make it awkward”?

Each Magoo show is better than the last! Train is my new favorite song; instant classic. Other highlights for me were Stay Cruisin jam and that Freeborn Man with Schizm tease at the beginning. Keep 'em coming!
