Kitchen Dwellers playing the Cohoes Music Hall really is something special even if they stop selling beers at halftime like the Buffalo Bills and when I yelled ‘can we talk about the last time you guys played here’ I was referring to the night our beloved Phil Lesh passed and the boys played their hearts out carrying sorrow and homage in equal measure turning the grief of a loss into the gratitude of celebration. During that second-all dead-all Phil-set the entire room every soul present physically and spiritually melted into community, into shared breath, into the feeling that the music never really dies.
