Wow wow wow wow wow. These guys are too good,
Saw them last year from a stage over, and going in I was told this was one of the best live bands in the world. I went in excited, but not knowing much, and left blown away. Made it a mission following that festival to get acquainted and come back to experience this band for everything they are.
First off, what a venue!!? If you’re in the Chi and have a chance to see a show at the Salt Shed, simply put/ Do. It.
Setlist was incredible, with half of the tracks being those that were integral to me becoming a fan. But closing the main set with Run Thru > National Anthem?? As a Radiohead fan, I melted. Put myself back together again just in time for a ripping Victory Dance with the extended outro… just a masterclass in music
Best part of all of this? There’s still nights 2 and 3 to go, with the Z anniversary show (!!!) on night 3. Someone might have to check in on me when Sunday turns to Monday as I imagine one can only withstand a force like this for so long….
