Hearing the Crazy Fingers Instrumental track really put this song in the context of a groove. This track could’ve easily gone on the LA side of Steely Dan’s Aja. And that Percy shuffle beat really swings!

The first track here is playing with the infectious groove of Peggy Lee’s hit from 1958, Fever. If you’re not familiar with it, look it up, it’s a gas!

These free form, improv jams are super cool to hear. Love that we get a whole album of them working out jams in the studio. The crazy fingers, sand castles, and stronger than dirt are highlights for me.

A big “meh” from me on this.
My CDs showed up yesterday. Kind of disappointed in the “remaster” of the original. Disk 2 sounds like an audience recording. Disk 3 saves the release.

Track #1 references Crazy Fingers only at the very end. Most of it is a jam that resembles Spoonful
