Reviews for The String Cheese Incident: 6/17/2005 Wakarusa Music Festival, Lawrence, KS

I had a great time at this show. True some of the vocals may have been butchered but it is a tight show. You should have seen the energy travis and kyle put into the performance. Can`t wait to see them again.

ive only seen 4 shows besides these 2 but i have a ton of their stuff and its all i listen to but liked this night better than the next. county road blues is my favorite jam,but i never thought id see it myself live.and i had my peak of my lifetime during "it is" . i wasnt far away, but far enough so that i was able to have plenty of room to dance and have a good time. it hard to have a good time at any show if you dont have room to dance.

The wakarusa shows were the 7th and 8th time I have seen Cheese and I must say the 6-17 show was not very good. Lots of mellow songs. The whole show kind of seemed to drag on. Fortunately they totally redeemed themselves the following night in the Revival tent. (which was a much smaller venue than the sundown stage which is where they played on the 17th.)

Well on the contrary to the rest of the reviewers, myself and the other say thousand people that I could see the face of in the crowd rather enjoyed ourself at this show. I dont get to see the cheese every week of the year so when I get to go to a show it is definitely the highlight of my month if not year. First time playing two new songs at that. Sign me up.

This was by far the worst cheese I have ever seen. There are some highlights, such as One Step Closer and Way Back Home, but I would not waste my money on this show. If you are smart, you would buy the next night with the insane Rivertrance, Texas and This Must Be the Place.

I know many people felt that this show wasn`t any good, but I think this is a solid show, especially for the start of the tour. Perhaps people were having a hard time adjusting to the large crowd, or the short 2-hour festival set, and that`s why they though this show wasn`t very good. But listen to this recording, and I guarantee you`ll have a change of heart. The first show is tight, and mostly well played, with a few exceptions - much to be expected for the first night of the tour. Yes, the second night was a higher energy affair, but the first night is much better than I expected after reading some of the reviews on the various lists. And the sound quality on the 6/17 show is phenomenal.

hate to say it, but after seein the cheese about a hundred times this show totally blew big time, no energy except a few very short moments, sound was horrible, first time i ever left a cheese show to go see another band, the next night however they redeemed themselves in a huge way, don`t bother with this show its all about the late night!!!!
