Reviews for The Radiators: 5/15/2005 Conte's Fish Market, Westport, CT

   Lex Louthr  (6/18/2005 7:05:26 PM)

"A Mission Of Great Delicacy" - Conte`s Fish Market in Westport,CT is where they say `STICK AROUND FOR THE ZEKE.` Yes it seems to happen now at least a couple times a year, you have dinner, some drinks, and then something unexpected occurs. Out of Long Island Sound comes the bayou funkateers known as The Radiators and pretty soon they`re "grinnin in your face." Each time The Radiators play Conte`s special things happen but on 5/15/05 there was some special MOTO MOJO in the air. Grab this show and sample some of the genious of Ed "The Fish Head" Volker. You normally may not ever hear The Radiators play a lot of these songs, there are gems that pop out at solo Zeke shows alongside samplings from the band`s playlist circa mid-1980`s. There are covers that as usual you will not believe are covers. Throw on this show and your very own lving room can become "The Star-Kissed Theatre." Gripping from the get-go it is simply amazing how quickly The Radiators turn The Fish Market into a dance-hall. "Where do ya go, with your Dead Eyes. The world you know, with your Dead Eyes." Get inside the world of The Radiators, they are masters at tucking away inspiration to disperse at will. Zeke & Ye Shall Find. peace & music-Lex

A fantastic show. A must have. If you`ve ever wondered what`s so special about The Radiators, give this show a listen! Played in the intimate setting of Conte`s Fish Market, an excellent seafood restaurant where they clear the fining room for shows on the weekends. A great crowd, great sound, and the band delivered one of the finest if not THE best show I`ve ever experienced. The band mesmerized the crowd with an unusual setlist that included a lot of covers that haven`t been played in a while according to long time fishheads, and Radiators classics chummed in for good measure. The entire band seemed soooo focused, and the energy between the audience and the band reverberated like a fish in da head for this smoker of a show! It`s hard to describe a true masterpiece. Beyond Description would certainly apply.
