I just do not get the hype of this show. I’ve listened at least 1/2 dozen times front to back to try to understand and it just does not stand out. To each their own, but I’m mainly posting this so people less familiar with Phish don’t actually take this as the best Phish show post Covid. There’s nothing wrong with it, solid show, good playing, played most of the biggest “hits”, but it’s not even the best show of the weekend and def not top 5 of summer. Chalky, Roo-esque festival set. Set two gets the hype but I’m not sure why. Average 2001, average (at best) Oblivion, Disease very good but several better ones in 2024 alone, average Tweezer, GREAT Scents I will give y’all that, standard Boogie, below average Carini. Maybe it was a you had to be there all timer, but it’s def not a Relisten all timer to my ears. Thursday was the Monde best set IMO and the weekend before at Bethel had at least one, maybe two better shows. Listen around and form your own opinions, but to my ears there’s higher level Phish sprinkled all throughout 2024 (which was one of the best year in Phistory if you ask me).
