Reviews for The Disco Biscuits: 7/11/2024 Freeman Arts Pavilion, Selbyville, DE

This was probably one of the few occurrences where you could see people putting on a golf course while simultaneously watching the Disco Biscuits. Venue was adjacent to a country club.

The jam in the center of Time Square ???? Tricycle tease during M1 jam

The (threat of) rain played into the experience big time  (7/12/2024 5:33:47 PM)

First set on paper was really nice, and it was, but the second set took off to another level. I didn’t like the song selection as much (considering I can only see the band a small number of times per year), but the leavemealone >> M1 >> Orch theme is some undeniably potent stuff, and it all just blends so well together thematically. Really interesting dnb from Allen, who can obviously handle that type of play with ease. The rain started coming down during this segment, and the jams seemed to heat up and cool off with the rainfall. It was really amazing, and it’s always nice when the natural elements play into the experience. I think Magner was having issues during the first set — the tech came on stage a handful of times to try and sort out something with the rig but it looked like they didn’t get it. This may have been why the first set had no samples (or techno confrontation) but I’m not 100% on that. The first set felt more old school as a result, and not in a bad way depending on how you like your biscuits. It seemed like there were many older folks who summer in the area who just come to every show at the freeman arts pavilion as one of their summer activities. Our server at dinner before the show said her parents would be in attendance and that they just take gummies and go to every show the venue puts out, but they’d never heard of the biscuits before. Prob thinking just a nice relaxing evening of hippie music at the local venue. Needless to say, the second set took a fair number of them to another dimension. First set felt like rock concert, second set was pure diabolical biscuits madness.
