While these opening jams haven't been much to write about, they are, IMO, setting the table for the jams the rest of the evening. An extended soundcheck/warmup, if you will.
The jam out of Left on the Runway picks up, thanks to Nick and Jordan, after Cory carries the LOTR chord progression for a few. The jam has a great few minutes, and this would be the listening highlight of the show for me. Plans has a few nice moments as well.
BDF, GITL, and Bee Jam were all good, but never quite found their footing - at least not in the way I've come to expect after the first few shows with Mike. That's a credit to Mike, and a compliment to the rest of the band and their ability to gel so well so quickly. These first few shows have, overall, far exceeded any expectations I had.
