Reviews for Spafford: 3/28/2024 Woodlands Tavern, Columbus, OH

"Wear your seatbelt" - Jordan. Goosebumps for the banter.  "We know it heals you just as much as it heals us."  It does.  Thank you.  We love you guys.  This show happened, and easily couldn't have.  That should be the end of the review.  Thankfully Spafford was OK (as OK as you can be) after their accident on the way to the venue.  They played the show and easily couldn't have. Ain't that Wrong was my personal highlight, however the show is strong throughout the entirety of the set. Shelter in Place has a good jam upfront.  "People"-esque.  The second half of the jam - the setup for the Motel 6 segue - is an excellent, driving groove.  Diesel Driver has a solid "Minds" jam before the pace picked up for an excellent piano-and-bass-driven jam, ultimately spacing out for a(nother) passive segue into Pursuit.  Pursuit comes out of the final chorus firing, leading to a solid team jam.  Listen for some more weird sampling from Cory (?) similar to what we heard in Night After Night the show prior. Some choice jamming in the Ain't that Wrong with well placed samples.  This jam is FUN. All In keeps the train rolling.  Excellent show.

Amazing and intense show after their accident. They played their hearts out.
