I was a student at OU back then and reached out to Umphrey’s team and they officially made me a promoter of this show, of course as a volunteer trying to build up the local OKC music scene. I plastered the University of Oklahoma campus with signs, passed out flyers, and even drove up to Edmond to encourage my jam band connections up there to show up. Little did we know the venue was literally at a house, a 1950’s style compartmental house built prior to open concepts. It was BYOB so we all had our coolers and we parties with band in the back yard during set break. Best Umphrey’s show ever hands down!!! We need to get that first set released, it may even be better than this 2nd set!!!

maybe one of these years we will get a deluxe remaster of this show, including the first set, which just looks nasty. This is the birth of the modern Umph right here boys and girls.

I was actually at this gig. The band I was working with at the time was playing there the next weekend. Gig was canceled do to the owner not paying his electricity bill!
