Reviews for Dead and Company: 7/3/2023 Folsom Field, Boulder, CO

What a magical night and fitting end cap to the 3-day Boulder run! Can’t wait to see the next evolution of this enduring music, culture, and community which has brought us so much joy for decades.

Rippin' first set - loved the increasing pace of Jack Straw, Jay with wonderful, driving control. Had the whole stadium in a frenzy for Althea. Dark and stormy Type II breakdown on Uncle John. Standing on the Moon was my most appreciated spark of the night. Everyone on stage was visibly and audibly stoked and vibing, pure energy emanating throughout. Bob is a legend, and has done a masterful job at building this unit and continually reaching new heights. Thank you for all the memories. Until the next time!

What a special show. Grateful to have been there and experienced the energy of the crowd. Nice for Dave to drop by and join the party

Helluva show boys! We got to the left of the stage early on. A little sun baked waiting for the show to start but not terrible. The band was locked in right out of the gate, Bertha got the crowd roaring like I haven’t seen. Rain delay was a bit of a let down and it took the boys a bit of mulling around in the weeds after coming back on stage but found that mojo again during Uncle John’s Band, Help>slip!>franklin’s into he’s gone is a wet dream. Drums and Space essentially defined astrophysics. Dave Matthews coming out was quite the treat and they finished the Boulder run strong. A show in my opinion.

All 3 nights were amazing. This band is going out on the highest of high notes. They started out so strong night 1 I didn’t know how they would top it but they managed bring it just as hard each night. The drone show was spectacular and totally unexpected. Then bringing out Dave for 4 songs at the end was perfect. I’ve always loved his version of watchtower and it just added another great sound to an already elite group of musicians. I cried tears of joy and tears of sadness. Boulder 23 was the best.

Wish I was there with my friends. Back in March I lost a very good friend to dope. He coined himself Samson Augest West and was an avid Deadhead and Dave fan. At Lockn in 2014 we got a double rainbow ??. The news of one that night and Dave. Got me to think I've been so angry with him but it was a sign to let it go. I imagine he ascended that night into heaven. Thank you fellas for giving him his dream show. ? ? ??
