Reviews for Counting Crows: 3/4/2003 Palais Theatre, Melbourne, AUS

One of my favorite downloads. Great quality acoustic recording. The guitars are just a bit higher in the mix than the vocals.
Wild Mtn Thyme> Long December is perfect. The highlight is Sweet Thing> Round Here. Yes, the beginning fades in, but so what. Most of it is there and it is stunning. Adam was channeling Van that night. Wondering if there are any other versions available?

Just listended to the outro, and those were Adam's exact words when he said he "hopes to be back before the end of year" - I do remember that bit well and I am still awaiting !

Adam did a fair bit of acoustic and paino as solos in parts of the show, song list and content looks right to me.
They did jump into Raining in Baltimore amongst Rain King also,

I thought this was a great concert, and yes shame they cancelled the next sechedule concerts due to Adam's grandmother passing away or similar. Still got those tickets !

Excellent show! There are some real treats on this album. This is a mostly acoustic show, and the sound quality is just beautiful. Some rarities include "Wild Mountain Thyme" "Have You Seen Me Lately"- acoustic, "Richard Manuel"- acoustic, and "Four White Stallions" Round here is missing the 1st half, but the entire song "Sweet Thing" is included as the Alt. in round here. Its a alt. verse that rarely gets played anymore... And the song is still over 10 minutes long.

Great show from the archives, looking forward to further additions!

I agree with the first reviewer of this show, why would I want to lay down cash for a show that is missing the first half of the best track. The rest of the show sounds good, but give me a break. I think that the first standard that has to be met when adding a show to the archive is that it's a complete show.

Anyway, cheers to the Counting Crows for putting this site together. It's really cool to be able to purchase all this good music.
