Reviews for Dead and Company: 8/18/2021 Jiffy Lube Live, Bristow, VA

I was there and I'm so glad I can hear this insane Cumberland Blues again! They sound better than ever to me, and they are clearly having a fantastic time up there playing timeless songs. Always a great show but this one is gold.

Rarely think of encores as a highlight but the Black Muddy River from this show is 10/10. Really special moment at the end of a great show.

My first Dead and company exposure was my friend sending me a YouTube of Black muddy river and my first and last show that was the encore. Magical.

I thought the show was very special. Together again after a historic Pandemic! They sounded amazing. Yes it was paced but the likes of Mr. Charlie and Cumberland. They came to play!

This show was on fire!! The black Peter out of space and drums was super intense and euphoric as well as many other parts too! Everyone has the freedom to there own opinion but I personally can’t understand the haters. The elitist super critical deadheads have always been out there criticizing the music and thinking they personally own real estate in the pit section instead of just enjoying it appreciating that it’s still around . They would still be talking shit even if Jerry came back. Notice how they still are here though for whatever reason. If it sucks so bad why still come or stream it? It’s a great thing that I can still go to the show have an amazing experience and be blown away by it. Glad to see the boys still out there tearing it up. Bobbys on fire too!! Some day there will never be a shakedown to go to again so let’s get back out there on the bus and go! I would like to point out that there is also an intensity, special energy and stage presence that you get from Bobby and original members that you will never get from a cover band regardless of how good they are at the music part. Dead is alive 2021!

I really enjoyed the pacing for this selection of songs. Any show that starts and finishes the way this one did is fine by me and will be played repeatedly…. That said, if Jungo found it slow and sleepy then to them that’s what it was. Hopefully they’ll find the next show more to their liking and we can all spin together (albeit apart). Freedom to express is as important as freedom to choose the music in the first place. I, for one, could sit inside this pocket forever. Much love to all

Jeff and John were on fire. Bobby was feelin it too, they had some great powerful moments together. Friend of the devil was so pretty, Cumberland blues was HOT, birdsong and drums went way out there, black muddy river brought us home. What a night!!

I don't understand the peops who have the nerve to get on here and drop negative comments. What do they want? This current lineup does a tremendous job of paying homage to the sound each and every night. Relax and enjoy the show!
