gratefulumphrey420, im having trouble accepting your comment about dmb being the best jamband now. Yea sure dave sells out big fuckin arenas every summer has millions of fans across the world and is all over tv and radio, but the fact of the matter is that I have seen dave twice and umphreys 6 times within the past 3 years and in my opinion and i know all umphreaks would agree: is that NO band can match what umphrey` mcgee is doing now and has been doing for the past 10 years. True umphreys doesnt have nowhere near the fan base dmb does, but thats simply because umphreys aren`t sell outs. If it wasnt for mtv and the radio it woulda taken dmb alot longer to get to where they are know. The day you catch umphreys on MTV will be the day hell freezes over.Does dave`s music intertwine progg rock,jazz improv,country rock, techno,classical,reggae. Last time i checked dave doesnt take every concert he plays and puts it on a website for his fans to dowload, the greatest souveneir a fan could ask for.why not hes got the money, hes got it all,maybe its because he plays the most predictable setlist each night just to please his fans. Any dmb fan knows he`s gotta plenty of material to throw down. Why is it always all along the watchtower,tripping billies, ants marching you know what i mean. Im not saying dmb doesnt put on a kick ass show and that dmb should open for umphreys, all i`m saying is umphreys deserves more credit,and that it seems you are judging them because of how many fans they have not their performance which is the most ridiculous thing ive ever heard of. If you can honestly sit there with a straight face and tell me dmb puts on a more complex,interesting,exhilirating, jawdropping and overall fun concert than umphreys does than we must have different tastes in music.
Bottom Line:Umphrey`s is the shit

once again, Umphrey is good, but DMB is great. DMB right now is the best alt. jamband. Dave is awesome, Umphrey is good. If you don`t believe me go see Dave at Alpine Valley, nothing compares to it. (not even Umphrey) Umphrey I love you, but I think you know, that DMB is ahead of all the jambands in throwing concerts.

This was the second time i`ve seen UM and they we`re great, it was my 4th dMb show and I think Umphrey`s was the perfect choice to open these nights at Deer Creek

I was only able to attend one of the two nights but I was happy just to make it. DMB was good don`t get me wrong but UM was amazing! The Alex`s house was mind blowing! In a perfect world DMB would have been opening with a 30 minute set instead of UM.
