Reviews for The Disco Biscuits: 1/13/2018 The Anthem, Washington, DC

The show from the day before at the 9:30 Club left me with a bad taste in my headphones, but thankfully this show is back on track. The first set is pretty solid with only a few screw ups on the intro to "Tempest". Otherwise a good solid set. Thankfully set two is even better with a nice stand alone "I-Man" before going into a long segue which peaks for me with the "Orch" > "House Dog Party Favor" > "Hot Air Balloon". What a great way to wrap up the D.C. run. What? No more shows until April?

First, The Anthem is an incredible venue. Spacious. Gorgeous. And the sound is PERFECT everywhere. TAUK killed the opening set while people filed in. Pretty safe as far as setlists go, but the playing here is SOLID as the monuments that stand in our Capital. First set is two tasty biscuit sandwiches. Second set are two stand alone songs that house a 4 song segue of dream playing. Got my first Caterpillar and that Hot Air Ballon is the ending to the rock opera, blanking on the official name right now. Home again reflected the love that permeated the room all night. 9:30 was grittier and more kick ass, but this just felt like home. DC RUN 2017 in the BOOKS.
