HERRING ABSOLUTELY SHREDS PANIC TUNES!  (3/31/2007 8:05:16 AM)

First thing first the Apple Market lot, The Uptown, and the crowd were all top notch. The show was INCREEEEEEDIBLE! Better Off opener is always sweet into the BEST WALK ON I WILL EVER HEAR! Makes Sense has always been a personal favorite along with Heroes. The closer Guilded Splinters into All Time Low really set the table for SET TWO. Greta opener? YES PLEASE. North into Smokestack was extemely solid. Stop N Go another favorite into MYGBF was a real treat. 15 minute Wondering? once again YES PLEASE. The Driving Song sandwich was easily the best part of the set for me with the impossible just rocking. Give closer yes sir. The encore = the icing on the cake. This Part of Town and Junior are such a great songs. WHAT A NIGHT FOR SPREADHEADS! I know everyone was having trouble HERRING when they walked out of this night.

Being a newcomer to WP`s music, I knew I`d have to see them in concert & I snatched up a ticket for this show about 2 months prior. I have to say that this has got to be the greatest rock/jamming concert I`ve ever seen, & yours truly here has been going to concerts for 37 years now. I`ve seen the Allmans (1976), the Black Crowes (7 times), and have seen video DVD`s of the Dead and Phish. All of them are great jam bands, but this concert convinced me that WP are undoubtedly in a class all their own. I`ve NEVER seen a band put forth this much originality, energy & spirit onstage--EVER. WP was a band I`d heard of for several years, but it wasn`t until recently that a friend of mine (thanks, Eric) actually got me interested enough to check them out. My jaw was just left hanging for most of the show, ESPECIALLY during the second half. The first half was great, no doubt about it...but when they kicked in for the 2nd half, it was almost like they were saying to us, "Oh, you liked the 1st half? Well, wait `til you hear THIS..." I was impressed with everyone in the band, but lead guitar man Jimmy just knocked my friggin` socks off. What a guitarist! One mind-numbing, rush-inducing guitar solo after another. I tried hard to explain his proficiency to people who`ve never been to a WP concert, and all I could come up with was, imagine a cross between Eddie Van Halen and Eric Clapton. I don`t think I`m exaggerating there at all--he is UP THERE with the best of them. My only regret now is that I couldn`t score a ticket for the 2nd night...after they`d laid waste to all of us at this show, I could easily see why they`d booked for 2 nights, and most of the people I talked with said they were going to be there on Wednesday. You live, you learn. :o) All that remains to be said is, Now I Understand. Everyone I`d spoken to who liked this band and had already seen them in concert told me to be prepared for a night of rock the likes of which I wouldn`t believe. Well, I went there reasonably sure I was going to see a good concert, but NOTHING could have prepared me for that Tuesday show. Absolutely astounding from start to finish. I can now proudly include myself in the family of SpreadHeads. This concert easily landed itself in my top 10 concerts of all time, and I`ve seen hundreds over the years. I will soon own everything they`ve released (not including bootlegs), and can`t wait to watch the 2 concert DVD`s I bought after the concert. To JB & the Guys: Thank you for an evening of classy rock jamming that I will NEVER forget. Peace!

Lots of lesser known goodies in here. The show was straight fire - my first time seeing them with Jimmy tearin` it all night.

One of the best shows i have ever seen. Jimmy sounds amazing. Dark, twisted, and nasty. A classic intimate, indoor Panic shitfest!!
