Reviews for The String Cheese Incident: 12/31/2006 Concourse Exhibition Center, San Francisco, CA

2006-12-31 SCI Live @ the Sea of Dreams in San Fransisco-

I love my Cheese, but as I get older I find that it doesn`t always sit well with my stomach. I was hoping to be buzzing about the show for a day or two, alas I don`t think that my friends and I mentioned the show at all the next day. I Love to get simi close (near the sound board) so that I can watch all the inner workings of the band. Unfortunately many people in the crowd were obnoxiously pushing and knocking people out of the way with no regard for others. I do recall a few nuggets in the NYE show The Drum Jam between the first set and the second set, James Browns Tea House, Ziggy Stardust (outstanding), Joyful Sound, Rocket Man, and Birdland come to mind.

Everybody sort of had there moment or there song, but as a whole I`m sure that Billy leaving is still heavy on all there minds. I would like to send the band some get well soon flowers, but instead I`ll just send money for the show in the hopes that they will be better for the next one.

I miss them already

All you freaks who are talking shit about cheese... screw yourself. A cheese show with that many great songs! They gave everyone just what they wanted. And if cheese wants to rage it with bassnectar on stage like they did, that only brings one thing to mind...Fuckng sick!
Dont ever come to a cheese show again.

Not the best show of the year for them, but not bad. Although it was hard to enjoy in the midst of such an obnoxious, disrespectful crowd. I wish the ravers would stay home, they ruin the energy. I`ve never had to fight my way through a mosh pit at a cheese show before. The venue was awful; the location was scary to say the least; there was not enough room for everyone, and not enough exits to accomodate such a large crowd. All in all, very dissapointed; mostly with San Francisco fans. lol, cheese.....

This show was sick. Both nights were amazing. It is nice to see the cheese boys play with some fire before they go out. keep on groovin`

I hate to say it but I thought this show was perhaps the worst SCI setlist and muscianship I have ever seen. The only well executed songs were Rocket Man and Ziggy Stardust which is ironic in that they were both "first time played" songs. Besides that, the band seemed to have a hard time finding the groove. The bottom line is, unless you have some nostalgic reason for wanting this show, don`t buy it.

What an incredible two nights...NYE got the first set rolling with a groovy Bam! and Rhum and Zouc...Kyle did a fantastic Rocket Man too. 2nd set was off the hook...James` Brown Teahouse ROCKED, and the long Star Trek jam was ridiculous. It is What it Is brought the house down, and well, this show just got better. Too much detail; sorry if you weren`t there...
