The New Year's Run: Part 1
I hate to admit it, but this my first in person Disco Biscuits concert was not the classic show I was hoping for. Lots of good pieces, fantastic sound quality, but the set lists are a bit lacking and the band sounds a little stiff especially in the more "jamtronica" parts. The big surprise of the first set was opening up with "Barfly" a song off their very first album, and a song that pretty much has no traits of the modern Biscuits - it's blues rock song for godsakes...but not bad. Set two overall is a bit better with a nice "Minions", and the entire last segment (aka disc three) is the highlight of the whole show with a great "The Very Moon" and a "Shem-Rah Boo" sandwich around "Shadow". A good show but not one of the best of the New Year's Run.
