Energy at the show was spectacular both nights but always feels slower on record. Jeff and John had us jumping and the drums was fantastic on Tuesday. They continue to bless the bay with magical sets.. wish I could follow to Boulder

Slight Revision: Swap out “I’m so far down the Jerry rabbit hole it’s silly” for “Scorsese should pay me for detail.” Oh yeah, and I know where I’m going. California. Wait, already there. And it’s totally true what they say. You can check out anytime but you can only get Champagne on ice. No wine.

Preface; I love the Dead, and have seen them consistently from '78... but, I find the music insufferably slow. It's like GD on 'ludes. I love all the tunes. I love all the jamming. But the guys need a MAJOR jolt to get going. Almost like the old lady in the left lane doing 5mph under the speed limit. I know this may meet with some pushback, but just the way I see it.

rb you're the fucking tits, man. "Jerry who?" Classic, dude.

@JB Yeah, heresy I know. Keep in mind I was on the Shoreline lawn in June ‘95 when Jerry belted out a Standing on the Moon so emotional you kind of get the feeling in retrospect he knew it was almost checkout time. I had some other thoughts last night too. That “wolf” reference in the first line of Cassidy presages the Dire Wolf a couple songs later. Hence the 1978 Estimated when Jer was playing the Wolf, not the Travis Bean TB500A (P90s not the 1976 humbuckers) from May ‘77. This is a conscious reference. Listen to 5-5-1978 and then go back to last night. Yes, I’m so far down the Jerry rabbit hole it’s silly. Maybe it was the Orange Sunshine this little gnome of a guy squeezed from an eye dropper into my IPA that night when the Gyuto Monks sat in on drums at Shoreline. What was I saying again? Oh yeah, Jerry who? But then again, the guy playing lead on Tennessee Jed is working a Gibson copy made in Maryland. Better get back to Tennessee? Now that I think about it, add an envelope filter to that triple humbucker Honey and you’ve got a wolfish growl. Werewolves indeed. Just don’t forget to split that coil.
