Brown Eyed Women gets the treatment here. It's played with that same energy and fire. But it's delivery speaks to the evolution of a band that continued to move. From the experimental '72 outings to those seminal '77-'78 performances, right across the landscape of personal favourites, for myself, like 06/17/91, this set one BEW from 03/02/92 captures what makes the Dead, the Dead. The resonance of expansion and the nurturing fire of frenetic, enveloping musicianship. There are some real delicate cuts here. There are some hallmarks of the Dead's place within their own history, a history beyond the measure of contemporary and traditional music. '92 was a good year... Waking up on a Tuesday to Drops is something else altogether. This app is a scene. Respect and Love.
