Reviews for Grateful Dead: 5/9/1977 Buffalo Memorial Auditorium, Buffalo, NY

These three shows from 5/7-5/9/77 are IMHO the best shows I’ve heard. Great mixing and the players were firing on all cylinders. Just lock onto any instrument and it will mesmerize.

Red hot start to finish. Help>Slip>Frank, Big River, Peggy-O, Comes A Time all stand outs for me.

This show is every bit as good, if not better than the previous night at Cornell. The Help/Slipknot/Franklin opener is exquisite. Don’t sleep on this show. Cornell gets all the adoration, but, for me, this night was just as special.

Just as good as Cornell! Peggy O and Comes a Time are simply gorgeous.

It has long been posited by Dick Latvala that 5/9/77, Buffalo,NY gives the beloved “Cornell ‘77” ‘a run for its money’. Upon being blessed with the Play Dead App, and finally having the opportunity to give it a comparative listen myself, I must concur with Dick. Exceptionally close call. But the race is on….

Comes A Time has one of the greatest Garcia solos of all time

Better than the previous night ????
