This show proves the jamband maxim of Jerry 420:69 - “You can’t judge a show by the set list.”

US blues JAM. should be on the set list!

Absolutely stellar stuff here but the US Blues -> Promised Land takes the cake!

I keep listening to this. I lived in Roanoke for six years and I imagine being there for this concert back in the day. Just a delight.

Good Gawd, Y’all! This is exactly the reason I always comeback to ‘74. Two first sets…..and still…..nothing but joyful exuberance…… totally realized! Amen.

Thanks Dave for a 1974 show. The US blues jam was like not other and the key change going into Promised Land is very cool. Keith on Fender Rhodes sounds great and it sounds like the Dead adapted their playing style to it. Mellow relaxed vibe of a show. Jerry’s voice sounds great. Billy‘s drums were miked nice and a great sound recording. Keep those 70s shows coming.!
