I’m writing this review while being back in my home town for Christmas and discussing cookies to bring to a few local proprietors who’ve been above and beyond in terms of welcoming and helpful (very small town, 2 stores only) - Mom gives me a recipe for cookies to look up in her setlist Rolodex of recipes. I told her they look great but the recipe is chicken scratch and I’d really like to recopy it as she’s 80 and life isn’t getting any shorter. As I’m putting the finishing touches and asking for a few clarifications I’m serenaded with the chorus of PUT IT DOWN ON THE PAGE OR THE DETAILS GET LOST - I’m sure it wasn’t what was in mind when the song was written but man oh man did that one hit hard.
Overall show is solid for sure- enjoyed set one more on my initial listen but right now I’m just genuinely happy to be hearing good shows and listen along as Marlon finds his way. Everyone’s got their own opinion but Marlon was meant to be here at this time and seems to be making serious strides in his understanding and mastery of the music, it might not all be perfect yet but I’ve got a lot of faith it’s all happening [insert Ron Paul gif.]
