This was an amazing show. The weather was brilliant and the band was both perfectly loose and perfectly tight. I was on my feet for the whole show along with almost the entire bowl. Shakedown in the #2 spot told us we were in for something special.

I’ve seen these guys five or six times. I didn’t have great seats at this show. I wasn’t high. Even so, this was the best of their concerts. The reason is that they are much more bluesy funky and dancy than I’ve ever seen them. The concert felt like Dead meets Thievery Corporation. These guys finally have a groove. I guess that guitar and bass players can sometimes talk lead singers into changing their act after 55 years.

Oteil is mixed well in these recordings but unfortunately at the shows he is hard to hear in the mix.

Such a great show! So many highlights and for me the Bertha, New Minglewood Blues, and Bird Song were extra special in the first set. In the second set, the Sugaree was smokin’ and China/Rider really soared. The sound was amazing at the bowl! Peak experience for sure! ??
