This is the "Beyond the Thunderdome" show that changed my life and trust me it wasn't in a tent. As the show progressed the clouds darkened and a ominous feeling overcame the crowd as the air was literally electric with the impending doom. Lightning in the distance grew closer and the faint of heart begin to leave. The tension was building to a level where you knew something was going to pop. As the show reached its crescendo Jim James voice hit a note that pierced the clouds and the heavens opened up and it poured rain. Some ran for cover, others stayed and danced in the downpour, and My Morning Jacket played even harder as if to dare mother nature to remove them from the stage. This was no ordinary rainstorm but a seriously dangerous electrical thunderstorm in the middle of a field with a few trees scattered about. The band fed off of it and those of us left in the crowd went absolutley nuts. I mean bonkers. When it was over the Which Stage was a mud pit and those that experienced the magic left to tell the others what they had witnessed.
