i was at this show, so i`m going to have to take into consideration the "i was there" factor - which can often inflate our opinions of shows. true enough, i enjoyed pretty much every song they played that night, but would probably not get too into some of them on a recording. they just put on such a great, high energy show, it`s hard not to get sucked in and love every second. the venue, which i had never been to, was great. very small. probably weren`t 1200 people there - even less maybe. i got there 20 min before show time and was 15 feet from the stage the whole night with room to groove. can`t say that the boys held back though. people were puffin` and nobody seemed to be breakin` balls - so that was nice. a good vibe overall i thought. all that being said, some definite highlights were the HBB opener and pretty much the entire second set from after WW&S. jajunk was nasty as hell. i even liked the encore - i think kimbal is a great little diddy - especially to send you home with a smile on your face. they really stretched it in some of the other jams, and found some grooves that i thought were fairly atypical for some of the songs. i`m being a little vague b/c i need to go back and listen to the show again...i was a little but foggy that night too (wink, wink). i will say that i thought this show was far better than it looks on paper - in my opinion. could be wrong though...just need to give it another listen. will report back with a more lucid, confident review.
