Reviews for Widespread Panic: 11/20/2001 Freedom Hall, Johnson City, TN

This is a special show for me.. drove up with a college crew from down the mountain from unca. there was a stupid long line just to get tickets at will call..but was quick to hear the hiss and then quickly score balloons to pass time in the line… Finally in… only to hear the last licks of LA…panic in a high school gym.. straight fire.. what a venue! Mikey giving a his hometown a treat. Always wondered if he knew if he was sick. The trouble gives it away.. I saw most shows after this but this one drives a little harder than most.

This and 10-28-00 are my favorites. They were absolutely on ?? this night. The last week of Fall 2001 is up there with the best stretch—if not the best—in Panic history. “Gotta get to school but it’s Christmas.”

The boys firing on all cylinders, second set is sick and flows so well. Mikey honed in on the perfect mix - getting the goddamn job done

Man i remember walking into this shitbarn living in Boone it was close and it was smoke. My best buddy i miss dearlty on one side (rip. Dump) and my other best buddy on the other and we may or may not have had cocks out rocking so hard. This, was in the reggae era,and youll find some in here but the rock is,strong i mean. fucking impossible>worry first set. if my cock wasnt out im dissapointed in myself and my cronies.

The true meaning of "An honest tune".

Legit! Panic in their heyday; before the buzzards and the bandwagoners....the pimps, the pushers and the prostitutes. What a shit show the last 10 years have become. Thankfully, the legend lives on. Right here.

Have you really ever heard such a soulful, down home, grass roots, play it how it feels kind of sound?

Put this 24 bit in your system and crank that shit.....LOUD! It's never been the same. Nor will it ever be.

I've been listening to live panic recordings for 20 years and this is, without a doubt, the highest quality and sound i have heard. Thank you and please please keep the 24 bit archive releases coming!
