To those who attended these shows, did this venue really seat under 4,000?

What a crispy sparkling show you can hear every single nuance of Weir which is a joy because he often gets buried in the mix!

When I first became aware of the China Cat > Cumberland, I envisioned the transition as one of those rare, brief and Inspired peak moments (e.g.,, THE Miracle > Shakedown). But, even after 41 years and numerous recording upgrades, I think the best that can be said for THE China Cat > Cumberland remains: "It worked at least as well as THE Shakedown > Franklin's."

A short one (just over 2 hours) but a burner. First set highlights include a smoking It's All Over Now with stacked B-3, slide, and lead solos and a gorgeous Row Jimmy. Set 2 features a groovy Eyes, which is one of my very favorite Dead tunes -- unless they try to play it too darn fast and lose the beauty of the melody. And who knew China > Cumberland was a thing? ***1/2 Keeper: It's All Over Now

Very Unique and rare setlist choices and placement. Very Anything Goes vibes and I like it. When they were on in 85, they were playing and sounding so good. I can’t wait for the Irvine Meadows show to see the light of day at some point.
