This is actually an excerpt from a great, wild & woolly show from the Dead's awkward adolescence - still adding WORKINGMAN'S DEAD songs to the setlist, still only halfway feeling their way toward a land beyond psychedelia. But this "Dire Wolf" is legitimately special, a great early-days rendition w/Jerry on pedal steel guitar and Bobby taking over lead vocal duties so Jerry can play. Swiftly abandoned, but good times nonetheless!
