If you're one of those Deadheads who usually explores the shows rather than these earlier compilations, stop for a moment and spare an ear for this one. Hand-seleted by Phil (his track-for-track liner notes were quite nice) this is a remarkably creative potpourri of random live Dead rarities from across the years. There's a heavy focus on 1967-1970, with two enormous jams in In The Midnight Hour and the definitive Viola Lee. A beautiful New Speedway and Dancing. A fine set.

Hand selected by Phil. Where to start? The Hard to Handle is essential. The Jack-a-Roe, the first time it was played, and arguably the greatest. Well, Phil thought so!
