The final show of the legendary Fillmore '69 run, this one gave Death Don't Have No Mercy and the Feedback/AWBYGN coda to LIVE/DEAD. (Interestingly, the segue between them turns out to be a creation of editing) The rest of the show is still pretty great. Knowing they already have Dark Star in the can, the Dead OPEN the show with the suite and play a wild, adventurous version of it. The long Alligator is less successful - they're clearly messing around now - but the ending Feedback is still definitive.

From what I've read people say this is the best version of death has no mercy. Working my way through the entire catalog I was looking forward to this. I didn't think it was the best. Definitely good but I think there was some better versions late 68
