Reviews for Grateful Dead: 12/12/1969 Thelma Theater, Hollywood, CA

This may be single greatest showcase for Pigpen the band ever played, and having it officially released is wonderful. An impossibly tiny, sweaty club, the band playing at floor level, and on the third night if a three-night run. And it's basically ALL Pig: Easy Wind, Next Time You See Me (a uniquely slow one) and Lovelight in the 1st set. Hard To Handle, Good Lovin', King Bee and Alligator > Caution in the 2nd. Wild energy. Pig's greatest ride.

Phil quipping "hey, let's do it now!" after being the only one to come in on the first Rider verse is gold (as is the whole show)

Pretty epic set list. Nothing better than a Cold Rain and Snow opener. The boys are blooming
